I was very interested to come across this information because I'm researching the history of the aircraft, W3450, which Flight Sergeant Watts was flying when he was lost over the Continent. That's because the aircraft was a Presentation Spitfire named "Dunottar Castle" gifted by towns people of Stonehaven in North-East of Scotland, which has been in news this week owing to tragic rail crash on the line close by. In fact, the name of the castle properly given is "Dunnottar Castle" but I've only seen it written as "Dunottar" with one "n" in any of the paperwork I've looked at and its a little curious how such an error came to pass unoticed. I'd be very pleased to have a photograph of the aircraft whilst in 41 Squadron service (there's a photograph doing the rounds of the crashed aircraft) and to be put in touch with the pilot's cousin, Peter Lee, whose mentioned. Thank you !
